Unlock the Hidden Mysteries of the Andaman Sea

This season In Depth Adventures will offer an exceptional opportunity on several of our adventure excursions in cooperation with Faraway and other boat owners and dive companies. Robert Cogen, zoologist and owner of In Depth Adventures, has prepared a delightful and informative course explaining the coral reef and island environments that we visit. He will accompany guests on selected cruises to help them increase their enjoyment and understanding of the relationships among the animals and plants that inhabit these tropical seas and shores. Robert will accompany diving, snorkeling and island explorations along the way, to help identify the many animals and plants observed; and he will lead informal discussions throughout the cruise.

Robert has been diving and exploring the Mergui and Thailand for more than 15 years. He is a noted popular writer about the local environment. He has prepared a unique, easily-read book to accompany these adventures; it includes 140 illustrations, and its rich text is fun to read. There are detailed descriptions of all of the invertebrates, fishes, reptiles and mammals you are likely to meet, as well as general topics such as coral reefs, mangroves, sea grass meadows, climatic cycles, and the topography and importance of islands. Each guest receives a copy of the book at no additional charge.

Robert also brings his extensive field library on liveaboard cruises to supplement guests observations and to provide reference material and background for the frequent discussions about the birds, fish, and other animals that we see. No other company has a presentation that is similar; and none provides their guests with written materials that compare in any way.
